60s classics in the new Porada collection
Apr 26, 2017
Every year the Milan Furniture Forum showcases great examples of contemporary furniture, presents the latest technical developments and innovative materials, all of which will live on in our interiors and set the trend in the coming years. At the same time there are manufacturers who choose a different path and win our hearts by loyalty to a chosen style, devotion to tradition and continuous improvement in craftsmanship. The Italian factory Porada is just such a brand.
Luigi Alevi and his sons began to manufacture furniture in 1948 and since then they have been offering objects that combine high functionality and memorable appearance. Timeless style of the 50-60s is an undoubted "horse" of the Italian manufacturer, which was confirmed at this year's Milan furniture show.
The Seventeen collection is inspired by the mid-century style of the last century, referring to the interiors of bourgeois homes, typical of Milan at that time.
Solid wood, particularly walnut, its immaculate shapes and tones are set off by other fine materials such as leather, marble and brass.
The night area, first introduced last year, was designed by Buratti Architetti. It is the realization of an entire night collection with My Suite wardrobe, Bayus bedside tables, Eley table and Nyan bed.
The living area with the sumptuous Kirk sofa is enriched with new details, such as integrated coffee tables with glass tops and polished brass bases. Complementing the interiors are a host of stunning bookcases, such as the Beam model designed by Tarcisio Colzani and Dalida presented by Carlo Ballabio.
Among the new additions, we can mention the following tables: Thayl (Buratti Architetti), Theta (Stefano Bigi), Alfred (David Dolcini), Fuji (Tarcisio Colzani).
The most surprising news in Milan 2017 is the collaboration with the talented French designer Patrick Jouin, who has created a stunning collection of chairs, armchairs, tables and coffee tables. The first phase of this collaboration led to a prestigious project for the Hotel Eden in Rome, where the Porada factory and Patrick had the opportunity to showcase their expertise and talent. In Milan the renowned designer presented the Timber and Trunck tables, the Ella chair and the Louis armchair.
New Studio is a partner of the Italian factory Porada in Belarus.
