Global recognition: Baxter Lazybones chair wins EDIDA award
Nov 27, 2020

The Lazybones chair from Italian brand Baxter has won the prestigious EDIDA Elle Deco Internatitonal Design Award 2020. First presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2019, the model is remembered as a sculptural piece with archetypal forms. The concise, modern-style model is complemented by a low backrest. The frame is made of solid wood and is completely concealed beneath the trim. Soft genuine leather in soft tones is used for this.
As a primitive architectural element Lazybones plays with massive totem volumes, which contrasts with the softness and comfort of the model. Such an original piece can be used with equal success as an armchair, as a dining chair or even as a work chair for an office or home library.
The EDIDA awards represent genuine success for the model and international recognition for its creators, the design company Studiopepe. The prize has been awarded annually since 2003, but in 2020 the award ceremony was held online for the first time. The chief judges were the 25 editors-in-chief of the ELLE DECORATION International Network.
