Moroso&Diesel: Japanese experiments

Located just a short walk from Tokyo's Museum of Contemporary Art, the Aloft Tokyo Ginza Hotel itself rivals it in the number of art objects. Most are the imagination of Patricia Urquiola and the creative team at Moroso & Diesel.
Halfway between craftsmanship and haute couture, Patricia Urquiola offers us a veritable hymn to weaving. The Tropicalia armchair is created from black plastic threads skillfully woven into a lightweight steel structure. The threads, commonly used in fishing nets, overlap to create geometric patterns with varying degrees of transparency. The comfortable and padded seat adapts perfectly to your body shape, allowing you to relax after a hurried race through the shopping malls and sightseeing.

A floral hurricane, embodying the vitality and wonder of nature, in the design of the Moroso Antibody chair by Patricia Urquiola. The bold design, bright finishes and slim frame make Antibody a real work of art, where the extravagant look is combined with inner comfort. The model is an exotic flower that blossoms into a contemporary hotel interior.
The incomparable Take a Line for a Walk chair is another model from Moroso that we want to draw your attention to. The "ears" model is gradually transformed from a bestseller into a true symbol of the brand. It was designed by Alfredo Heberly back in 2003, and 10 years later a softened version of the model called Take a Soft Line for a Walk appeared - a large layer of filling combined with quilting gave the model a plumpness and femininity.

The Cloudscape chair was co-developed with Diesel. The base is formed by thin metal legs. While the seat, backrest and armrests resemble sleeping cushions carelessly piled on top of the chair. The upholstery is made of moisture-resistant textile, allowing the model to be used not only indoors, but also outdoors.

The stylish Total Flightcase chest of drawers is another striking model from the Diesel Creative Team collection. The designers were inspired by the concept of music equipment and instrument boxes. This is evident in the clear, somewhat heavyweight contours, the metal frame of the box and the solid, semi-concealed handles of chrome steel. A luxurious author's model for an unconventional ambience.
