Kitchen of the week: Toncelli Pinea

Premiere!
The Tuscan factory Toncelli has designed a new kitchen collection to be shown at iSaloni in September.
The collection is called Pinea. Its author, designer Andrea Steidl, has developed a complex and interesting project that gives a traditional kitchen an unusual twist. Breaking the linear composition, the classic kitchen elements overlap to give strength to the functional units.

"The kitchen is the most welcoming place in your home," stresses Andrea Steidl. - This is where ergonomics play a crucial role. The Pinea project is based on the best traditions of Italian craftsmanship, enriched with modern elements, so that it can be considered an example of modern classics".

The decoupled elements and vast open spaces for storage make it possible to create a kitchen which goes far beyond the modular structure and allows for informal compositions, typical of Italian kitchens of the last century.

The graphic language enriches the kitchen fronts with original patterns. The island combines precise functional elements: a sculptural sink and a stone column, which gently emerges from the worktop area.

The Marquee wall unit is able to conceal everything from view without altering the balance of the overall composition. The shelves and open units are reminiscent of antique furniture and create a space more akin to a festive area.
When creating the kitchen, the factory has experimented with the use of eco-friendly materials, which are based on reusing sand and stone chips. Of particular note is the unusual combination of natural wood and artificial textured surfaces. The latter are specially designed for Toncelli, such as concreto, mixtia, granea, marble and cement grits. Such a clever technique gives Pinea an exceptional longevity.
