Gervasoni: A modern castle on Lake Como
Jun 23, 2021
What do modern castles look like?
Designer Paola Navone offers an alternative interior solution and surprises with the Castello del Nero project on Lake Como. The talented Italian boldly combines modern furniture with historic walls. The result is an interior which is airy, democratic and not lacking in zest, as is often the case with the unconventional Navone.
Most of the interior items are chosen from the collections of the Italian brand Gervasoni, of which the creative director is also the author of the project. The focus is on the More collection of upholstered furniture, created especially for connoisseurs of laconic design and high comfort. Elegant armchairs and sofas have pleasing smoothed forms. The smooth contours of the back and elegant semicircle of the upholstered seat look very impressive due to the strict straight legs.
In the dining area there is the Next dining table, around which the Ghost armchairs with high backrests are arranged. As in the More collection, there are no sharp corners. The wide upholstered seat flows seamlessly into the solid base. In contrast to the neutral gray background the chairs are upholstered in irregular turquoise.
