It was she who turned an ethnic amateurishness into a well-established brand. She was the one who forced the world to respect rattan and bamboo and transferred the materials from the natives of the Indonesian islands into the category of respectable raw materials for the production of luxury furniture.
Paola Navone is a keen traveller and it's not surprising that many of the pieces in her collections have a slight ethnic flavour.
