Like clockwork: A virtuoso interior for four musicians

Huge picture windows and a panoramic view of the Alps. The young couple, the owners of this penthouse, need only open the door of the house to enjoy the beautiful view of the Alps. The penthouse has been designed in the Italian town of Pinerolo – forty kilometres from Turin towards the famous ski resort of Sestriere, where the Winter Olympics were held in 2006. The musician couple Anna and Marco often travel around the world due to their work, but have realised their dream home in their beloved hometown.
Everything in this house testifies to the refined taste of the owners: the decor is understated and the furnishings are austere, and the protagonist of the space – a magnificent modular sofa – produced by the Italian factory Cassina, designed by the genius Piero Lissoni.
Opposite the TV system (another masterpiece in this house by Piero Lissoni) – the Selecta library, which is a cinematic composition of open and closed modules and allows appliances to be neatly hidden from view. All Lema.
Reflected light illuminates the perimeter ceiling, white walls and natural oak parquet. And to help the natural light – iconic fixtures: the ceiling light 2097 by Flos and the ever so recognisable Artemide Tolomeo Mega floor lamp.
Anna and Marco's apartment is located on the top floor of a building that was formerly used for offices. Now the converted space is perfect for its owners, offering a fantastic view of the mountain peaks and a true open space. One of the architects' and designers' main priorities was to find a kitchen that would provide everything necessary to meet up with lots of friends, without 'breaking up' the space or blocking the view. An open and light kitchen set in white lacquer, complemented by a large table for 12 – a good solution to achieve this goal. The Lio bar stools in white leather from the Italian factory Zanotta are also organically matched.
Overall, the style can be described as elegant yet functional. Only bright touches break the classic scheme «white + wood» fiery red is found in the bedroom of a young couple and the guest bathroom. The contrasting piano against the bright wall also looks incredibly stylish.
The whole space, with its fullness and emptiness, with the elegance of details and finishes, with the natural warmth of materials and restrained tones, fully reflects the character of those who live here.
