Visionnaire furniture is a combination of style, luxury and high quality. It is a trademark of the Bologna-based company IPE Ltd. (short for Imbottiture Prodotti Espansi), founded in 1959 by brothers Vittorio and Pompeo Cavalli. It was the Cavalli brothers who first started using polyurethane as the padding for upholstered furniture, after which the idea spread and became popular throughout Europe.
